Peak Oil is the shortest way of describing the fact that global production of petroleum will rise to a maximum and then decline.

Whilst there's speculation regarding when Peak Oil will occur, there's a growing consensus that it will be before the end of this decade.

We’re hearing more in the news about our society’s addiction to oil.  Our future will be one where we will be relying less on fossil fuels, both because the demand for oil will soon outstrip supply, and because of climate change.

It is clear that we have mortgaged our future and things are getting worse.  On many fronts the blind and the greedy are setting the agendas, and as a result our children’s children will be living in a world where life is nasty, brutish and short.
